Oil and Gas employment helped create Oklahoma’s 3.2 percent jobless rate

Oklahoma was one of 40 states in the U.S. last week where the unemployment rate was below 4 percent. Oklahoma’s unemployment rate actually improved to 3.2 percent for December 2018 for the 8th consecutive month, according to the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission. Oil prices moved upward on Friday and so did stocks in major oil and gas firms

As oil prices closed Friday in an upward trend, so did some of the stocks in major oil and gas companies. West Texas Intermediate crude, set at the Cushing hub closed up $1.69 to settle at $53.76 per barrel or 3.25% higher. Brent crude was up $1.38 and closed at $62.56 or 2.26% higher. Natural …
