Talks resumed as oil was mixed

As investors hoped for peace between Iran and the US were boosted on Friday, crude oil rose less than 1% globally but dropped the same in the US.

The US naval blockade had turned back 34 ships as of Friday but both the US and Iran plan more peace talks in Pakistan. At the same time, Israel and Lebanon announced an extended ceasefire.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed Middle East Steve Witkoff and American businessman Jared Kushner planned to travel to Pakistan for more talks on Saturday.

Brent crude finished at $105.81 a barrel with a gain of about 85 cents or 0.7%.

West Texas Intermediate dropped nearly $1.45 or 1% to $94.85 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Natural gas prices slipped on Friday, settling at $2.523 with a loss of $0.091 or 3.48%.

Friday was a day of setbacks for all but a few of the Oklahoma Energy stocks we monitor. Stardust Power led all with a more than 7% loss for the day. Mammoth Energy Services was the strongest gainer at about 4%.
