Stroud Rattled by Strong Quake Felt in Kansas and Arkansas

Previous strong earthquakes in Oklahoma have led to lawsuits against oil and gas companies. Oil Companies Contend Pawnee Quake Wasn’t Caused by Their Activities

  A judge is still considering whether to dismiss a lawsuit filed by homeowners against some oil and gas operators following the 5.8 magnitude earthquake last fall in Pawnee. Contractor Hits Pipeline—-Causes 1,200 Barrel Oil Leak

Homes were evacuated following an oil pipeline leak on Thursday near the Texas town of Bastrop. About 1,200 barrels or about 50,000 gallons of crude leaked in a Magellan Midstream Partners pipeline. Bastrop’s a small community east of Austin. Magellan quickly turned off the flow of oil in the Longhorn pipeline and started cleanup operations. …

Magellan Midstream Reports Pipeline Spill in Bastrop County, Texas

Tulsa-based Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. reported Thursday that a crude oil pipeline rupture in Bastrop County, Texas leaked nearly 1,200 gallons of oil. Magellan advised that an excavating contractor performing maintenance activities on the company’s Longhorn pipeline struck a fitting shortly before 9 a.m., forcing the temporary evacuation of nearby residents.
