Friday turned out to be a second consecutive day of losses for crude oil prices as they slumped more than 2%, thanks to skeptical investors worried over just how deep the OPEC+ production cuts will go.
Global oil prices dropped below $80 a barrel.
West Texas Intermediate crude dropped $1.89 a barrel for a 2.49% fall to $74.07 on the New York Mercantile Exchange. WTI lost more than 1.9% for the week.
Brent crude finished down $1.98 or 2.45% at $78.88 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe. The global benchmark finished the week down about 2.1%.
January natural gas rose 1 cent to $2.81 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Friday proved to be a day of gains for most Oklahoma energy stocks, including PHX Minerals with a 5% rise and 4% for ONE Gas.
