Boeing to transfer California workers to Oklahoma

 

Boeing in Oklahoma is gaining more employees who are being relocated from operations in Long Beach, California.

The workers were given the option of either moving to operations in Oklahoma, Texas, Florida and Georgia where additional staffing was needed or lose their jobs. A total of about 250 jobs are being filled following a company analysis that found the other facilities needed more staffing.

Barry Edwards, a spokesman for Boeing Global Services indicated some of the jobs being filled are in finance, engineering, supply chain and project management. Boeing has about 2,000 workers at the Long Beach facility and nearly 10% were to be transferred.

The transfer of workeers is expected to be made in the next 15 months and through the first quarter of 2025.
