New Mexico political and energy leaders are being urged by the Albuquerque Journal to waste no time in moving toward creation of a Hydrogen Hub, one very similar to Oklahoma’s proposed hub with Arkansas and Louisiana.
In a recent editorial, the newspaper said,”The time is now for New Mexico to move toward a new energy future.” In another respect, the same could be said of Oklahoma’s efforts to get a share of the $7 billion the U.S. Energy Department is investing in development of the regional hubs.
The opinion piece said the focus on a hydrogen hub would benefit New Mexico’s energy landscape. After all, it is a state with huge oil and gas production from its southeast corner where part of the Permian Basin is located.
