DEQ to offer $3.5 million in emissions reduction program

Nearly $3.5 million coming from the Volkswagen Settlement Trust will be made available through Oklahoma’s Department of Environmental Quality to help firms replace or repower aging equipment.

DEQ explained it is seeking projects in the name of reducing nitrogen oxides emissions. The projects are four non-road categories—freight switchers; ferries or tugs; airport ground support equipment; and forklifts and port cargo handling equipment.

DEQ will use approximately $3,500,000 from the Oklahoma Volkswagen Settlement Trust for this competitive reimbursement program available to government and non-government applicants. A cost-share is required for funding under this program.

Applications will be accepted through September 30, 2023.  For an application or more information please visit https://www.deq.ok.gov/air-quality-division/volkswagen-settlement/non-road-program/ or email questions to: VWSettlement@deq.ok.gov
