Crude oil prices recorded a fifth straight week of gains and Oklahoma energy stocks made improvements too on Friday.
Investors were reported to be optimistic that healthy demand and supply cuts will keep the prices high reported Reuters.
Both WTI and Brent crude gained nearly 5% for the week due to supply cuts from the OPEC+ alliance earlier in the month.
West Texas Intermediate gained 49 cents in Friday’s trading to settle at $80.58 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Brent crude, the global benchmark, finished up 75 cents to $84.99 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
September natural gas rose 4 cents to $2.64 per 1,000 cubic feet.
The majority of Oklahoma energy stocks recorded gains for Friday, including a 5% boost for Ovintiv and 3% for Chesapeake Energy.
Other energy stocks also made gains according to the Texas Energy Report.
