Harold Hamm’s ownership of Continental shares continues to grow

Continental’s Chairman Harold Hamm has expanded his share holdings in the oil and gas company he founded in 1967 in Oklahoma.

While he has been acquiring shares through multi-million dollar purchases in recent months, Hamm picked up another 10,405 shares at no cost in the past several days.

The direct acquisition came at the conclusion of the company’s annual shareholders meeting with other leaders also were given shares as part of their operation of the Oklahoma City energy company. Hamm now owns 156,340,643 shares in the company according to a filing made Thursday with the Securities Exchange Commission.

The additional 10,000 shares came after Hamm made two multi-million dollar purchases of shares in his own company.

In December 2021, the billionaire oilman bought more than $11 million in company stock, acquiring 250,000 shares over 7 separate purchases with prices ranging from $41.32 a share to $45.42 a share.

Then in March of this year, as OK Energy Today reported, Hamm paid $19,965,342 for 336,844 shares, making five separate purchases with prices ranging from $57.57 to $59.51 per share. The largest of the five purchases was in early March when he paid $14,922,006 for 250,766 shares of Continental Resources.
