Cimarex Energy and Cabot Oil and Gas to combine in all-stock merger of equals

  Denver’s Cimarex Energy Co., a firm with heavy exploration efforts in Oklahoma announced Monday it is merging with Houston-based Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation in an all-stock deal worth nearly $17 billion. Bankrupt Texas frac sand company liquidating Wisconsin mine

    A Texas-based frac sand mining company that declared bankruptcy last year is liquidating one of four Wisconsin mines. Prior to the filing, Hi-Crush Proppants of Houston was one of Wisconsin’s biggest producers of sand used in hydraulic fracturing for oil and natural gas.
