Oklahoma Transportation Commissioners will get an update Monday morning on recent flood damage at Lake Texoma and the Red River in southern Oklahoma.
Commissioners meet at 11 a.m. in Oklahoma City and will be briefed on a number of issues, including to the U.S.-70 Roosevelt Bridge causeway at Lake Texoma. They will consider awarding repairs for the project. The briefing might include a report on damage to equipment in the Red River where Oklahoma and Texas are on a joint project to widen Interstate 35 and construct a new Red River bridge. Some of the equipment appeared to be left underway floodwaters in recent weeks.
Commissioners will also welcome a new member, Paul Scott who was recently appointed to be the District 7 commissioner.
Scott served in the Oklahoma Senate representing District 43 from November 2016 to November 2020. He ran for re-election in 2020 and lost in the Republican primary runoff in August 2020.
Other items to be addressed at the meeting:
- Officials will present the agency’s 2024 Safety Awards recognizing the ODOT districts and crews with the best worker safety records in the past year.
- Oklahoma Transportation Commissioners will be presented with and vote on whether to approve the department’s Fiscal Year 2026 Budget Work Program.

The commission, a nine-member panel appointed by the governor and legislative leaders to oversee the state’s transportation development, awards project contracts for road and bridge construction on a monthly basis.
