No energy mentioned in Senate Democrats’ agenda

Senate Democrats announce 2205 legislative agenda

When Oklahoma Senate Democrats released their legislative priorities this week for the 2025 session, their blueprint did not mention energy in any way or fashion.

The Democrats said they were intent on creating prosperity, improved health, greater educational opportunities and more fair government for all Oklahomans.

“Oklahomans need us working on real problem solving that will make their lives better. Senate Democrats have a vision for this state where every child gets a great education, everyone has a good-paying job, and families have the resources to take care of their health. Our agenda outlines pragmatic bills that will begin to make those goals a reality for Oklahomans,” said Senate Democratic Leader Julia Kirt, D-Oklahoma City.

The Democrats said Education was the heart of Oklahoma communities “and to make sure every student teacher have what they need and schools are protected from political interference.” They introduced legislation such as Senate Bill 374 to safeguard school accreditation from state overreach.

Four key topics were announced in their agenda: A Great Education for Everyone; Prosperity for All; Longer, Healthier Lives; and Open and Fair Government.

None of the bills filed under each of the categories did not reflect any focus on energy whether it was oil and gas, wind, solar, electricity rates or related issues.
