A Canadian firm recently announced the discovery of a huge site of uranium in the central Wyoming Red Desert.

Canada-based hedge fund Premier American Uranium Inc. says its early findings suggest that anywhere from 8 million to nearly 13 million pounds of uranium were discovered. The firm says it’s a significant discovery as the country could switch from coal-fired power plants to nuclear plants.

The Cowboy State Daily says Premier American plans more exploration in the  Red Desert, an area of more than 9,300 square miles in the south-central part of Wyoming.
