A lawsuit has been filed by the families of six Tishomingo teenage girls killed a year ago in the crash of their small car with a rock-hauling semi-truck.
They filed suit in Johnston County District Court against the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, blaming the agency over the design of a highway intersection for the March 22, 2022 deadly crash. The crash occurred at the intersection of U.S. 377 and State Highways 22 and 99.
The Oklahoman reported this week the lawsuit contends the intersection had a history of crashes. The suit also named the state of Oklahoma as well as DOT Director Tim Gatz and DOT district engineer Ron Brown.
