This week’s cold snap resulted in record lows

Temperatures into the 70s are in the weekend forecast across Oklahoma and no doubt those residents of the northeast part of the state want it to quickly turn warmer.

Oklahoma Climatologist Gary McManus reported this week the 16 degree readings on Nov. 1 were the lowest temperatures ever recorded on a Nov. 1, at least on the Oklahoma Mesonet system which started recording temperatures in 1997. The 16 degree readings beat the old low of 17 degrees set in 2019 in Hooker.
