Storms leave thousands without power in Oklahoma

A strong series of thunderstorms, caused by the arrival of a cold front, brought 90 mile an hour destructive winds in southwest Oklahoma and left thousands of customers without electrical power.

One building was reported to have been destroyed by strong winds in Frederick in the southwest part of the state.

Oklahoma Gas and Electric reported early Wednesday evening that nearly 2,000 of its customers lost power in different areas of the state.

KFOR TV News reported the outages were in 18 counties

• Garvin County, OK: 62

• Bryan County, OK: 1

The Tillman County Emergency Management office reported a home was collapsed in Frederick as the result of winds estimated at 85 miles an hour and a barn was destroyed about a mile southeast of the city. There were no reports of injuries.
