OGE moves to lower monthly utility bills

The Surprising benefits of being Surprised!

Normally many customers of utility companies are shocked when they open their monthly bills—shocked over increased amounts.

But Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company is doing just the opposite. On Thursday, the utility informed its customers it would be lowering customer bills effective Nov. 1 because it would also be lowering the fuel charge on each customer’s monthly bill.

The average residential customer will see a reduction of $20.97 beginning on their December bills as a result of natural gas prices dropping in 2023. This reduction is approximately 15.4% per month.

The change is effective Nov. 1 and customers can expect to see the change reflected in their December bill.

OG&E began notifying its customers on Thursday about the upcoming change. Customers can learn more about how the cost of fuel impacts their bill at OGE.com/fuel.
