A day after crude oil prices rose in the wake of Israel’s declaration of war against Hamas, they settled a little lower on Tuesday. Observers say the concerns about potential supply disruptions eased as both Brent crude and WTI were down for the day.
West Texas Intermediate crude finished down 41 cents at $85.97 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude settled down 50 cents or 0.57% at $87.65 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
At one point, both benchmarks were down more than $1.
November natural gas was unchanged at $3.38 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Gains made by Oklahoma energy stocks were moderate and the most recorded for the day were around 3%. Others experienced small losses.
Other energy stocks, according to the Texas Energy Report, also had a day of ups and downs.
