Kansas Corporation Commissioners, in a special meeting on Friday, gave approval to a set of energy efficiency programs for Evergy’s 1.6 million customers.
The program will include rebates and discounts on efficient HVAC systems and free thermostats.
Evergy asked for the approval in December 2021 and it took state regulators until this month to vote in support of them.
