Wednesday’s trading brought another decline in crude oil prices, even with a big drawdown in U.S. crude stocks.
US benchmark, West Texas Intermediate dropped $1.61 or 2% to $79.38 on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The fall came a day after WTI dropped $1.52 or 1.8%.
Brent crude, the global benchmark, declined $1.44 or 1.7% and closed at $83.45 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
Both benchmarks fell more than 1% in the previous session to their lowest since Aug. 8. Brent slid $1.32 or 1.5% in Tuesday’s trading.
Natural gas down 0.07 at $2.59 – change 2.52%
Oklahoma energy stocks were split for the day with some recording gains and others losses. Gains were moderate with up to 2% increases while the losses were closer to the 1% range.
