Arkansas regulators are close to approving a plan by Summit Utilities Inc. to give more than 47,000 customers behind on thkeir winter natural gas bills up to six months to set up repayment plans.
Summit, with thousands of customers in Oklahoma, is awaiting final approval of the plan by the Arkansas Public Service Commission. If the plan receives approval, Summit plans to restart shutoffs and late fees in September. The disconnects and late fees have been suspended since November, 2022.
