Another Ovintiv well reported in Kingfisher County

Newly-filed completion reports show Ovintiv USA Inc. extended its success in Kingfisher County with a November 2022 well that had production of more than 1,200 barrels of oil a day.

The completion report on the Coffey 1507 3h-27x, located at 27 15N 7W , a site about 3 miles south of the city of Kingfisher, was just filed with the Corporation Commission. With a drilled depth of 19,046 feet and a true vertical depth of 8,432 in the Mississippian formation, the well had production of 1,222 barrels of oil a day and 1,171 Mcf of natural gas.

The completion report showed the well was spud in May of 2022.

Whether that was a single well drilled by Ovintiv on a single pad remains to be seen. Other completion reports could still be filed on possible other wells.

A Dewey County well with production of 474 barrels of oil and 911 Mcf of natural gas a day was completed in March of this year by Crawley Petroleum Corporation. The Chain 1-34mh, located 10 miles west of Canton at 34 19N 15W, had a drilled depth of 14,712 feet and a true vertical depth of 10,157 feet in the Mississippian Lime according to the completion report.

The well was spud in December 2022.

March also saw the completion of two Bce-Mach III wells in Kingfisher County.

The Lincoln Southeast Oswego Unit 23 5ho, with production of 327 barrels of oil a day along with 586 Mcf of natural gas, is located at 7 17N 5W, a site about 8 miles east of Dover. The well’s true vertical depth was 6,413 feet and its drilled depth was listed as 12,055 feet in the Oswego formation. The completion report showed the well was spud in February.

While a second Bce-Mach III well, the Lincoln Southeast Oswego Unit 25-5ho wasn’t on the same pad, it was drilled nearby at 18 17N 5W, just  next to the first well. With a drilled depth of 12,104 feet and a true vertical depth of 6,366 feet in the Oswego, the well produced 124 barrels of oil a day and 10 Mcf of natural gas. The completion report showed the well was spud in February 2023 and completed about a month later.

The well was the third to be drilled on a single pad, resulting in combined production of 849 barrels of oil a day. As OK Energy Today reported in May, Ovintiv filed reports on the first two wells.

The firm had earlier completed a series of 8 wells in the same region east of Dover.
