The upstream oil and natural gas industry in Texas saw its highest job growth in May in at least 33 years according to a new report from the Texas Workforce Commission.
The state added 6,900 jobs, a record amount, and brought the total job count in the industry to more than 200,000 for the first time in more than three years.
The Washington Examiner reported the more than 206,000 upstream jobs was an increase of 22,700, or 12.4%, from May 2022, according to the data.
