Crude oil prices were mixed at the end of Thursday’s trading day with U.S. prices seeing a slight increase while global oil prices fell. As a result, some Oklahoma energy stocks soared while others took a dive.
West Texas Intermediate crude for November delivery closed up 20 cents at $75.03 a barrel while global benchmark Brent crude for November delivery finished the day down 12 cents at $78.52 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
The resulting mixture of crude prices left Oklahoma energy stocks in the same kind of situation as though investors weren’t sure what to do with their funds. While Cypress Environmental recorded a more than 9% gain for the day, Unit Corporation suffered a nearly 8% loss on Thursday.
