The U.S. Supreme Court sided with the state of New Mexico this week in a dispute over water released to Texas down the Pecos River.
The fight was over the quantity of water that had been stored in New Mexico’s Brantley Reservoir and released when Texas wanted the water. Justice Brett Kavanaugh delivered the opinion which agreed with the court-appointed Pecos river master who gave New Mexico credit for water that had evaporated while being stored.
