Chesapeake Shareholders Re-Elect Directors But Reject Executive Compensation Package

All eight members of the board of directors at Chesapeake Energy were re-elected at Friday’s annual meeting of shareholders, but the shareholders didn’t go along with the naming of executive officer compensation.

Directors elected by the shareholders were Gloria R. Boyland, Luke R. Corbett, Archie W. Dunham, Leslie Starr Keating, Robert D. “Doug” Lawler, r. Brad Martin, Merrill A. “Pete” Miller and Thomas L. Ryan.

Each received more than 300 million votes while Lawler received the highest amount at 378,039,284. Te highest opposition was 75,774,537 votes against Merrill Miller who also received 313,587,906 votes.

As for the executive compensation proposal, it was defeated on a vote of 201,989,381 against and 166,366,723 for.
