Pawnee Struck by 3.8 Magnitude Earthquake Early Sunday Morning

Pawnee was rattled with a 3.8 magnitude earthquake early Sunday morning according to data from the U.S. Geological Survey.

The temblor struck northern Oklahoma at approximately 7:23 a.m. Its epicenter was located eight miles northwest of Pawnee. It was about two and a half miles deep.

There are no reports of injuries or damages associated with this most recent earthquake, which is the latest of several to be associated with Oklahoma’s wastewater injection wells.

A record 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck Pawnee on September 3. Since then, the area has been rocked by several lower magnitude temblors.
