It’s been a few months since Oklahoma Corporation Commissioners held a non-public meeting where they gathered behind closed doors. But they held one this week, according to a filing made this week by the agency and some of it dealt with the cramped space where commissioners work in the Will Rogers office building.
Commissioners Kim David, Todd Hiett and Brian Bingman met Monday afternoon and confirmed it on Wednesday. The commissioners met privately to discuss the topic of “organizational structure” and discussed possible changes being considered by Interim Director of Administration regarding legal structure. Specifically, the changes would involve the Office of General Counsel as well as “postings of leadership positions.”
Commissioners also discussed, according to the non-public meeting disclosure form, “staffing needs.” They reviewed “upcoming construction” at the Will Rogers Office Memorial Building and the lack of office space. The lack of space explained it involved “requiring numerous employees working remote and need to accommodate employees and the public.”
The Corporation Commission moved out of the Jim Thorpe building three years ago to allow millions of dollars in construction. They moved to the Will Rogers building
According to the non-meeting form, only one other individual was present during the 43-minute meeting and that was Nicole King, legal advisor to Commissioner Hiett.
