Oilfield company and VP plead guilty in poison gas deaths of two in Texas

Five and a half years after a man and his wife died from poison gas emitted at a Permian Basin well site near Odessa, Texas, an oilfield company and its vice president have pleaded guilty to criminal charges in the deadly incident.

Aghorn Operating Inc. was fined $1 million while a serving company, Kodiak Roustabout will pay $400,000. Aghorn’s Vice President Trent Day was given a five-month prison sentence.
