Oklahoma remained steady while US rig count showed decline

 

The nation saw a drop of 4 oil and gas rigs in the past week, leaving 580 still active across the different states, according to the latest Baker Hughes rig count released Friday.

Oklahoma remained at 43 rigs, the count from the previous week and one more than the 42 rigs reported a year ago. Nationally, the decline of 4  rigs included a drop of 2 oil rigs to 478 and 2 gas rigs to 98. The number of miscellaneous rigs was unchanged at 4.

The U.S. count is now 40 below the 620 reported one year ago and the decline incuded a loss of 19 oil rigs and 22 gas rigs while the miscellaneous rig count added one. The U.S. offshore rig count was unchanged at 14 while it was 6 fewer than one year ago.

Texas recorded a loss of one rig to 281 while New Mexico was unchanged at 103 and North Dakota’s count declined by four to 32 rigs.

Colorado remained at 9 rigs, the same count in Ohio. The Red Top Rig Report in Kansas showed a loss of one rig, leaving 17 active rigs in the state. Pennsylvania continued with 15. Utah had no change with a count of 11 rigs and West Virginia stayed at 10. Wyoming added a rig to reach 19 total.
