The latest rig count released by Baker Hughes Co. indicated that most of the oil and gas plays across the U.S. saw little change in their drilling activity.
The Permian Basin rig count was unchanged at 304, according to the report. The Williston in North Dakota and South Dakota remained at 34, the same count as a week earlier.
The Eagle Ford in South Texas saw no change with 49 active rigs. The Haynesville, famous for his natural gas resources in Louisiana and East Texas, recorded a drop of one rig, leaving 33 active in thee field.
The Ardmore Woodford remained at 2 rigs, as did the Arkoma Woodford. The Cana Woodford recorded a loss of one rig, leaving 21 active across the play.
The Granite Wash in Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle continued with 4 active rigs. The Marcellus stayed at 23 rigs and the Mississippian again recorded no active drilling, at least based on the Baker Hughes report.
The Utica continued with a count of 9 active rigs.
