John Deere is latest to dump ESG and DEI policies

While DEI and ESG policies are in Oklahoma news— the lawsuit challenging the state’s anti-ESG law and how BlackRock has been banned from state business, two more major companies have decided to drop their similar policies. And both are synonymous with Oklahoma farming.

John Deere, the farm equipment maker is the latest to announce it would no longer sponsor “social of cultural awareness” events. Its statement this week came after rural retailer Tractor Supply brought an end to its climate efforts and diversity stances.

Both companies are well known throughout Oklahoma as John Deer tractors and combines are seen on farms all over the state. Tractor Supply is also known for its many stores in Oklahoma.

The Associated Press reported John Deere’s announcement followed a backlash from conservative activists.
