Crude oil and natural gas suffered declines on Friday

A combination of soft Chinese demand and extended supply cuts by OPEC+ led to a Friday drop of 1% in crude oil prices. Natural gas closed down again.

West Texas Intermediate crude finished down 92 cents or 1.2% at $78.01 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Brent crude, the global benchmark, closed down 88 cents or 1.1% at $82.08 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.

For the week, both benchmarks finished down as Brent ended down 1.8% and WTI 2.5%.

April natural gas fell 1 cent to $1.81 per 1,000 cubic feet.

Oklahoma energy stocks were mixed on Friday’s trading with losses generally 1% or less while some firms, such as Mammoth Energy recorded a strong 4% gain.

Other energy stocks also had a mixed day of trading, according to the Texas Energy Report.
