A woman who ran oil and gas businesses in northwest New Mexico was recently indicted on charges of defrauding the federal government and two Indian tribes out of taxes and royalties.
Teresa McCown’s M&M Production & Operation Inc. and Shoreline Oil & Gas Company were operating in the state’s San Juan Basin. The Albuquerque Journal reported she was indicted on wire fraud charges and violations of the Federal Oil and Gas Royalty Management Act.
