Despite a larger-than-expected crude stock draw in the past week, oil settled lower on Thursday and brought Oklahoma energy stocks down too.
West Texas Intermediate finished down 51 cents or 0.7% to $72.19 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude closed down 66 cents or 0.8% at $77.59 per barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
Low fuel demand and large inventory increases in data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration weighed on prices reported Reuters.
Natural gas up 0.15 at $2.82 – change 5.73%
Oklahoma energy stocks suffered losses in Thursday’s trading including a 7% fall for Empire Petroleum.
Other energy stocks finished down, according to the Texas Energy Report.
