Texas regulators recently approved more restrictions on oil and gas drillers who return fracking water back to the earthquake in a move to lower the number of earthquakes in the Permian Basin.
Taking a cue from what Oklahoma did some years ago, the Railroad Commission of Texas ordered oil and gas firms in Culberson and Reeves counties, two of the most actie counties for drilling in the Permian Basin, to stop injecting water back into the earth reported Bloomberg.
Th ban on reinjection of wastewater wll take effect Jan. 12 and apply to 23 deep disposal wells operated by Coterra Energy Inc., Chevon Corp., and BP Plc.
