Gov. Polis launches pitch for eastern Colorado passenger rail service

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis is hoping to land a trainload of money from federal taxpayers as he pushes for development of a passenger rail line from Pueblow to Fort Collins.

“I’ve got to kick this thing into high gear,” he proclaimed at a recent publicity tour aboard a battery-and-hydrogen-powered train car at a federally run rail testing facility near Pueblo. On board were elected government officials who Gov. Polis was hoping to convince to support his latest green-energy project.
