Crude oil prices in the U.S. stayed above $90 a barrel in Friday’s trading and crept closer to $91. Oklahoma energy stocks fell mostly in the losing column.
West Texas Intermediate crude, considered the benchmark crude in the U.S. rose 61 cents on Friday and finished at $90.77 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Brent crude, the global benchmark, finished up 23 cents at $93.93 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
Wholesale gasoline for October delivery fell 3 cents to $2.71 a gallon. October heating oil fell 10 cents to $3.38 a gallon. October natural gas fell 7 cents to $2.64 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Losses were the order of the day for the majority of Oklahoma energy stocks as they ranged from 1% to 2% for most. But there was one exception—Empire Petroleum. It rose more than 11% in Friday’s trading.
