Colorado energy regulators go by new name

Workers drill near a geothermal energy plant to tap deep underground heat from the southern San Andreas Fault rift zone near the Salton Sea on July 6 near Calipatria, California.

A new name. New duties for Colorado regulators.

The Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission is now the Colorado Energy and Carbon Management Commission.

New duties include building a reglatory framework for the growing geothermal energy sector that is a priority for Gov. Jared Polis, according to a report by the Greeley Tribune.
