Retired General says US national security can be improved with a stronger energy policy including oil and gas

The best way to beef up the country’s national security, according to retired U.S. Army Gen. Wesley Clark, is more cooperation from the Biden administration and the domestic oil and gas industry.

It’s what he told a recent Hart Energy SUPER DUG conference held in Fort Worth, explaining China and Russia each are a “great danger” to the U.S. as a global superpower.

“Today, we’re in a really tough international situation, a multipolar competition with two nuclear superpowers,” Clark told the crowd.

“And I don’t [know] if the politicians will tell you–I’m not wearing a tie; I’m not a politician–but I’m going to tell you the United States is in great danger.”
