Occidental to build large carbon-capture plant in Texas

Occidental Petroleum unveiled plans this week to build the first of its kind and scale in the world—a carbon capture plant in Midland, Texas.

The plant is scheduled to open in 2024. Occidental is using the European company called Climeworks which intends to use large fans to suck in air, scrub the carbon and press the greenhouse gas into pellets, then store the pellets underground or turn them into synthetic fuel reported Jalopnik.
