Diversified Energy report reflects on impact in Oklahoma economy

A new report by Diversified Energy, the nation’s largest natural gas well operator, shows its operations added more than $1 billion to its 10-state operating area which includes Oklahoma.

The Alabama-based company said it supported more than 8,600 direct and indirect jobs and also generated $500 in federal, state and local revenues.

Its operations in Oklahoma contributed $120 million GDP, supported 777 jobs and generated $35 million in taxes, not to mention $100 million in royalty revenues.

In the company’s 4th annual report, titled “Decarbonizing While Delivering,” the firm said its new efforts to minimize methane emissions resulted in a 25% decrease compared to 2020. Diversified stated it positions the firm ahead of its 30% target by 2026. The company also noted it saw a 50% incident rate decline as of December 2022.

Diversified’s operations span the Appalachian region primarily in the states of Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia and within the Company’s Central Region in the states of Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.
