Crude oil prices dropped in Wednesday’s trading while Oklahoma energy stocks headed in the opposite direction.
Investors looked to make profits from two straight days of gains for crude oil prices.
West Texas Intermediate crude dropped 23 cents or 0.3% to close at $72.97 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Brent crude, the global benchmark, fell 37 cents or 0.5% and finished at $78.28 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
April natural gas fell 4 cents to $1.99 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Most Oklahoma energy stocks recorded another day of gains, albeit moderate ones.
Devon Energy was up 3% along with NGL Energy Partners and Unit Corporation.
Most other energy stocks also had moderate gains for the day according to the Texas Energy Report.
