Crude oil prices finished the week with two straight days of losses and Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm’s comments about taking years to refill the Strategic Petroleum Reserve continued having an impact. Plus, there was continued worry as European banking shares fell.
Oklahoma energy stocks also finished the week with stronger gains.
West Texas Intermediate crude dropped 70 cents or 1% to close at $69.26 a barrel on the New York Stock Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude finished down 92 cents or 1.2% to $74.99 on ICE Futures Europe.
Most Oklahoma energy stocks rebounded on Friday including OGE Energy Corp with a nearly 4% gain for the day. Others had gains of 2 to 3%.
