Big new wells reported by Gulfport Midcon and Devon Energy

Sister wells a solid hit for Gulfport MidCon Energy - Oklahoma Energy Today

 

Oklahoma City’s Gulfport Midcon LLC just filed completion reports on three Grady County wells drilled on a single pad with oil production of more than 1,200 barrels of oil a day along with 28,000 Mcf of natural gas.

The three Scr wells were completed in October of last year but the reports were not filed until this week with Oklahoma regulators. They are sited at 30 4N 5W, which is several miles due south of the town of Alex.

The Scr 4-31x6h was the largest producer with 476 barrels of oil and 10,842 Mcf of natural gas from the Woodford formation. Drilled depth was 25,935 feet and the true vertical depth was 14,075 feet. The completion report showed a spud in December of 2021 and drilling was finished in February 2022 but actual completion wasn’t made until December of last year.

The Scr 6-31x6h produced 394 barrels of oil a day and 9,331 Mcf of natural gas from a drilled depth of 25,867 feet and a true vertical depth of 14,386 feet. The completion report showed a March 2022 spud date.

The Scr 5-31x6h was completed with production of 378 barrels of oil a day and 8,030 Mcf of natural gas. Drilled depth was 26,093 feet and the completion report showed a true vertical depth of 15,118 feet. The well had a February 2022 spud date.

Devon Energy reported completion of a Blaine County well in January of this year that produced 1,530 barrels of oil a day and 3,522 Mcf of natural gas from the Mississippian formation. Located at 22 15N 11W or six miles southeast of Watonga, the Cowan 15_10-15n-11w 2hx, had a June 2022 spud date. The completion report showed the drilled depth was 22,063 feet while the true vertical depth was  10,928.

A nearby Dewey County well’s completion report was filed this week even though the Evans 18-7-1h well, located at 18 18N 14W or 8 miles west of Canton, was completed nearly a year ago–April 29, 2022. The well produced 422 barrels of oil a day along with 5,122 Mcf of natural gas. Drilled depth in the Mississippian formation was 15,365 feet and the true vertical depth was 10,223 feet. The well had a December 2021 spud according to the completion report.
