Ovintiv and Cimarex report major producing wells in Canadian County

Ovintiv USA moved some of it STACK success from Kingfisher to Canadian County where the company reported completion of two single-pad wells with combined production of more than 2,600 barrels of oil a day.

The firm completed the two Bohlman wells in July 2022 and filed the reports this week. Located at 3 13N 7W, about 5 miles north of the city of El Reno, the Bohlman 1407 3h-34x produced 1,441 barrels of oil a day and 2,084 Mcf of natural gas from a drilled depth of 19,929 feet in the Mississippian formation. The well was spudded in February 2022 according to the filed completion report.

The Bohlman 1407 2h-34x, drilled on the same pad, produced 1,206 barrels of oil and 1,622 Mcf of natural gas a day. Drilled depth in the Woodford formation was 20,122 feet following a spudding in February of last year per the completion report.

Cimarex Energy Co. filed two more completion reports, making four wells drilled on a single pad at 19 13N 8W , a site about 2 miles southeast of the town of Calumet. It also means the site’s 4 wells had combined production of more than 3,200 barrels of oil a day.

OK Energy Today reported the filing of the first two Leota wells earlier in the week but Cimarex Energy followed up with a subsequent filing of completion reports on two other Leota wells on the same site.

The latest reports show the Leota 2h-1918x, completed last October at a drilled depth of 21,7123 in the Woodford formation produced 808 barrels of oil a day and 4,490 Mcf of natural gas. The well had been spudded in April 2022.

The last of the wells on the same pad, the Leota 3h-1918x, produced 669 barrels of oil a day and 3,174 Mcf of natural ga from a drilled depth of 21,681 feet in the Woodford.

The latest filings show the total combined oil production was 3,254 barrels a day from the Leota wells.

Three big natural gas wells were reported by Calyx Energy III LLC. Located in Pittsburg County, the two Fore wells drilled northwest of McAlester and west of the Indian Nations Turnpike had combined production of more than 25,000 Mcf of natural gas. The Fore 2-4-28wh, located at 4 7N 13E produced 12,002 Mcf of natural gas from a drilled depth of 16,013 feet in the Woodford formation. Completion was made in October of last year following a June spudding.

The Fore 3-4-28wh drilled on the same pad at a depth of 16,462 feet in the Woodford produced 13,304 Mcf of natural gas. The completion report showed a July spudding. It made the combined production at 25,306 Mcf of natural gas.

Calyx Energy reported completion of a nearby natural gas well, the Ace 4-1-25wh at 12 7N 12E  with production of 13,095 Mcf of natural gas. Drilled depth was 17,815 feet and completion was in July of last year following a spudding in March.
