Oklahoma energy stocks fell as crude oil made a 1% gain on Thursday

As OPEC Output and Oil Demand Shift, Traders Turn to Micro Futures | Institutional Investor

Crude oil managed a 1% gain on Thursday while Oklahoma energy stocks went the other way, recording losses, including a 16% drop by one firm.

The gain in crude came as investors focused on Russian oil supply concerns and growing Chinese demand. At the same time, the Bank of England didn’t raise interest rates as high as some had expected.

West Texas Intermediate crude for November delivery managed a 55 cent increase to $83.49 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Global benchmark Brent crude for November delivery gained 63 cents and closed at $90.46 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.

October natural gas fell 7.46% or 69 cents to $7.09 per 1,000 cubic feet.

While crude prices made their 1% gain, most Oklahoma energy stocks recorded losses—major losses in the case of Mammoth Energy Services. The firm recorded a 16% loss for the day. PHX Minerals and SandRidge Energy had about 4% losses.
