Gain in rig numbers across the U.S.

 

The U.S. rig count rose by five in the last week to a total of 828 on July 28, according to Enverus Foundations data.

The count is down 0.7% in the last month, but up 51% YOY. The number of active rigs running reached as high as 834 during the last week.

The DJ Basin registered the largest week-over-week gain with the addition of three rigs bringing the basin’s total to 21. Appalachia slid by three to 55 rigs.

On the month, the DJ was the only basin to increase activity—by just one rig—and the Anadarko Basin was down the most with a four-rig drop to 70.
