Texas leaders are standing up to financial firms that have either divested from oil and gas companies or are urging others to do the same.

The Texas Tribune reported that State Comptroller Glenn Hegar notified 19 firms this week they could be violating a new Texas law prohibiting companies from “boycotting” fossil fuel companies.

BlackRock In., a firm targeted by the state of Arkansas over its anti-oil-and-gas investment policies was among the 19.
