As the omicron variant spreads around the world, crude oil prices recorded a weekly loss in Friday’s trading. So did Oklahoma energy stocks.
West Texas Intermediate crude for January delivery dropped $2.25 or 3.11% to $70.13 in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude for February delivery dropped 2.71% on a $2.03 loss to finish at $72.99.
It was the 7th weekly decline for crude oil prices in the past 8 weeks.
Natural gas for January delivery also fell, dropping 2.28% on a 9 cent slide to$3.68 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Oklahoma energy stocks performed poorly on Friday including Matrix Service Inc. with a nearly 5% loss for the day.

Enterprise Products Partners (EPD) up 0.01 at 21.06 – change 0.04%
EOG Resources (EOG) down 2.19 at 84.00 – change 2.55%
ExxonMobil (XOM) down 1.34 at 60.03 – change 2.19%
